The One UI 8 beta program initially kicked off with the Galaxy S25 series in May. Now, Samsung is broadening its reach, with the next phase of testing set to commence next week. This expansion targets key markets, including Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. Following this initial rollout, a further expansion is scheduled for September. This second wave will bring the beta to users of the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Additionally, mid-range devices will also receive access, with the Galaxy A36 5G, Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G, and Galaxy A54 being included in the September update.

Key Innovations in One UI 8

At its core, One UI 8 is built upon Android 16 and introduces several groundbreaking capabilities, most notably its multimodal features. These advancements are designed to offer real-time context, enhancing the user’s interaction with their device and the digital world around them. A significant highlight is the seamless integration with Google’s Gemini AI. Users will be able to activate Gemini through voice commands or by utilizing a long-press function on the new Galaxy Buds 3 or Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, promising a more intuitive and hands-free AI experience.

This expansion of the beta program is a crucial step for Samsung in gathering user feedback and refining the software before its official release. By involving a diverse range of devices, from high-end flagships to popular mid-range models, Samsung aims to ensure a robust and polished One UI 8 experience for all its users.

Official Release on the Horizon

The culmination of this extensive beta testing will be the official rollout of One UI 8. Samsung has slated the stable version of the software to begin its deployment starting in September. The initial wave of the official release will be made available for the Galaxy S25 series, ensuring that those who participated in the early testing phases are among the first to receive the final product.

This news represents a significant development in Samsung’s ongoing efforts to enhance its software ecosystem and deliver cutting-edge technology to its global customer base. The focus on multimodal capabilities and deeper AI integration signals a clear direction for the future of smartphone interaction, making the One UI 8 rollout a keenly anticipated event in the technology news cycle.
