Mariah Carey has officially launched a new artistic chapter with the release of her sixteenth studio album, “Here for It All,” on September 26, 2025. This highly anticipated 11-track project, released through her own imprint Mariah and the independent media company Gamma, marks a significant moment for the iconic American singer-songwriter, signaling a period of profound personal reflection and creative freedom. The album, hailed as her first full-length release in seven years, is being celebrated by fans and critics alike for its eclectic sound and deeply personal themes.

“Here for It All” is characterized by its rich, genre-blending sound, a hallmark of Carey’s celebrated career. The album skillfully weaves together R&B influences with elements of disco, soul, and gospel, creating a diverse listening experience. Critics have lauded Carey’s vocal maturity and vulnerability showcased throughout the record, with some noting its lyrical depth. Musical exploration is evident in tracks like “Play This Song,” a collaboration with Anderson .Paak, which evokes a throwback feel to 1970s soul and disco. The album also features collaborations with artists such as Kehlani and Shenseea on the track “Sugar Sweet,” and a powerful gospel moment with The Clark Sisters on “Jesus I Do.” The project even includes a nod to musical heritage with a cover of Paul McCartney & Wings’ classic “My Love.”

Embracing “The Era of Me” and Spirituality

This new musical era, which Carey has dubbed “the era of me,” is deeply personal. In interviews, she has spoken about the album’s long gestation period, admitting she wasn’t always sure if it would see the light of day. The project was largely conceived during a period of intense personal grief, following the simultaneous loss of her mother and sister. Carey has stated that incorporating spiritual elements into her music has become a personal necessity, a way to connect with herself rather than impress others. The album’s title track, “Here for It All,” is a deeply spiritual piece placed strategically at the end of the album, intended to encourage listeners to fully absorb its message. This emphasis on personal truth and faith underscores the album’s overarching theme of resilience and owning one’s narrative.

Lead Singles and Chart Impact

The album was preceded by two prominent singles that offered a glimpse into its sonic landscape. The lead single, “Type Dangerous,” released on June 5, 2025, sampled Eric B. & Rakim’s iconic track “Eric B. Is President” and became Carey’s fiftieth entry on the US Billboard Hot 100. It also marked her return to the top of the Adult R&B Airplay chart for the first time in nearly two decades. The second single, “Sugar Sweet,” featuring Kehlani and Shenseea, was released on July 25, 2025, further building anticipation. Upon its release, “Here for It All” debuted at number seven on the US Billboard 200 chart, with over 47,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week, and achieved top-twenty positions in several international markets.

A New Chapter with Gamma

“Here for It All” represents a significant professional shift as it is Carey’s first release under a multi-album deal with Gamma, an independent music and media company founded by Larry Jackson. This partnership signifies Carey’s desire to create freely on her own terms, a sentiment she has expressed as being crucial to this new chapter in her career. Executive produced by L.A. Reid, who has a history of successful collaborations with Carey, the album is seen as a testament to her enduring artistry and adaptability within the ever-evolving entertainment news landscape. The project, described as a celebration of every era of Mariah known to fans, while incorporating modern influences, demonstrates her commitment to artistic evolution.

Here for It All is more than just a collection of songs; it is a declaration of resilience, spirituality, and artistic independence. Mariah Carey continues to prove her status as a powerhouse in the music industry, offering a body of work that is both a reflection of her past and a bold stride into her future.
