Cupertino, California – Apple is reportedly on track to integrate Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) cutting-edge 2-nanometer process node into its silicon, a move anticipated to power the iPhone 18 models expected next year. The significant technological leap, detailed in a recent note from respected supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, marks the first time Apple is projected to adopt the highly advanced 2nm technology, promising a substantial advancement in performance and efficiency across the entire flagship smartphone lineup.

This potential transition to 2nm represents a pivotal moment in mobile chip architecture. For years, the industry has pursued shrinking transistor sizes to pack more processing power onto smaller dies while simultaneously improving energy efficiency. TSMC has been at the forefront of this effort, continually pushing the boundaries of photolithography and fabrication techniques.
