Cupertino, California – Apple is reportedly on track to integrate Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) cutting-edge 2-nanometer process node into its silicon, a move anticipated to power the iPhone 18 models expected next year. The significant technological leap, detailed in a recent note from respected supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, marks the first time Apple is projected to adopt the highly advanced 2nm technology, promising a substantial advancement in performance and efficiency across the entire flagship smartphone lineup.

This potential transition to 2nm represents a pivotal moment in mobile chip architecture. For years, the industry has pursued shrinking transistor sizes to pack more processing power onto smaller dies while simultaneously improving energy efficiency.
